Councilman Padilla
With heavy hearts but deep gratitude, the City of Grants and the Grants City Council honor the life and legacy of Fred Padilla, a devoted public servant, a trusted colleague, and a cherished member of our community.
Fred Padilla served with distinction as a Grants City Councilman, representing District 4 with integrity, passion, and unwavering commitment. His leadership was rooted in service to others—he was known not only for his dedication to sound governance but also for his willingness to listen, to collaborate, and to act on behalf of the people he proudly served.
In addition to his work on the Council, Fred generously gave his time and heart as a long-standing member of the Grants Cemetery Board. His guidance helped shape respectful and lasting policies for one of our city’s most sacred places, ensuring that families and loved ones could honor those who had gone before with dignity and care.
Fred's public service was marked by thoughtfulness and humility. He advocated for improvements to city infrastructure, supported quality-of-life projects, and worked to make Grants a more welcoming and vibrant place for all. His enthusiastic voice, balanced perspective, and steady leadership will be missed in our meetings, our chambers, and our lives.
To honor his memory and to stand in solemn gratitude, the current members of the Grants City Council will be in attendance for Fred Padilla’s Celebration of Life Mass on Monday, July 21, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church and will remain present for the duration of the services. As a matter of respect and state law, no City business will be discussed or voted upon during this time.
Fred’s contributions have left an enduring impact on the City of Grants, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations of civic leaders. We extend our deepest sympathies to the Padilla family and all those whose lives were touched by his kindness and commitment.
Rest in peace, Councilman Padilla. Your service will never be forgotten, and your memory will forever live on in the city you loved.
