City of Grants Shares Updated Plans for Community Holiday Events
The City of Grants is pleased to share updated information regarding this Saturday’s community holiday events. The annual Cookie Crawl will continue as planned from noon to 5:00 PM, and a revised daytime Christmas Float Festival will replace the evening Christmas Light Parade.
The Cookie Crawl will feature 17 participating businesses and locations, along with food trucks and other holiday activities throughout the afternoon. A horse and carriage photo opportunity will be available from 1:00–3:00 PM in front of City Hall.
Due to recent safety considerations, the Christmas Light Parade will transition into a Christmas Float Festival hosted at Grants High School from 12:00–2:00 PM. Float parking will begin at 11:00 AM. Floats will be staged behind the football stadium off Roosevelt Avenue and later displayed in front of the high school off Second Street. A location map is attached for reference.
Float judging will still take place, with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards presented. The event’s Grand Marshal will remain part of the celebration. Participants who paid the $35 float entry fee will receive a refund beginning Monday. The first 250 children in attendance will receive a special holiday gift.
The City of Grants recognizes the significant time and creativity invested by participants and appreciates the community’s flexibility. To ensure all float designs are celebrated, a community showcase will be created and shared following the event.
The City of Grants extends its sincere thanks to Grants MainStreet and Grants High School for their collaboration and support in creating a safe and festive alternative for the community.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to attend and enjoy a full afternoon of holiday activities.
Please view the Public Notice from the Grants Police Department regarding the cancellation of the Holiday Light Parade.
