Centennial Celebration Kickoff

Grants, NM – The City of Grants is proud to announce the upcoming Route 66 Centennial Kick-Off Celebration, taking place on Saturday, September 13, in downtown Grants. This free, family-friendly event will highlight the history and culture of the Mother Road while bringing the community together for a full day of activities, entertainment, and local pride.

The celebration begins at 8:00 a.m. with a 6.6-mile run and walk, followed by the opening of the farmers market and food trucks at 9:00 a.m. Residents and visitors will enjoy a wide variety of local vendors offering fresh goods and dining options.

From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the Grants MainStreet Project will host the “Get Your Kicks on 66” activity. Participants will begin at the MainStreet office at 523 Santa Fe Avenue, where they will receive a poster, their first sticker, and a raffle ticket. Sixteen local businesses will take part in the event, each providing unique stickers and additional raffle tickets. Raffle tickets must be turned in by 3:30 p.m. at the Fire & Ice Park stage. Prize drawings will follow, and winners must be present.

Throughout the day, families can enjoy bounce houses, giveaways, and other local attractions. The event will conclude with free live music at Fire & Ice Park from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
